Special Event Tournament
Each month, the AHMGC has a Special Event Tournament that is held at various courses throughout the state. During the fall and winter months we generally play at courses in the northern Phoenix valley area and during the spring and summer months in Northern Arizona and at AHGC. At each Special Event Tournament, payouts are given in each flight to the low gross and second low gross winners, low net and second low net winners, with opportunities to win extra cash for Closest to the Pin on par 3’s and net skins play. All low gross and low net winners in each flight qualify for our annual Tournament of Champions. We also have a Club Championship Tournament and an opportunity to qualify for the AGA Club Team Championships.
To play in the Tournament of Champions (TOC) Special Event, you must have won in a qualifying TOC event. The term “won” is defined as you winning either low gross or low net in your respective flight. These qualifying events are the special tournaments supported by the AHMGC, generally monthly that are open to all club members. The TOC date is posted on the “Special Events Schedule” for the AHMGC.
Club Championship Rules
Championship Format
The Club Championship will be held over two rounds of Medal Play. The first round is usually scheduled in June on the first Monday on either the North or South Course, and the second round will take place on Wednesday of the same week on the opposite course. Players will be grouped into flights based on their handicap indexes as determined on May 31st of that year. Prizes will be awarded to flight winners for both Low Gross and Low Net scores, as well as to the second-place finishers in each category.
Match-Play Set-Up
Following the two days of Medal Play, the four players with the lowest Gross scores and the four players with the lowest Net scores will be selected for the Club Champion playoffs. These players will compete for the titles of Club Champion – Gross Division and Club Champion – Net Division. Each of the eight selected participants will receive a $25 award. Winners of the semi-final match play will receive an additional $25 each.
The final match-play winners will be awarded $50 each and will be recognized as Club Champion for their respective divisions. All matches must be completed by the end of June of the given year played and may be played during regular Club League Play at
Antelope Hills. Players are responsible for coordinating their match schedules promptly.
For assistance, contact Jamie Hinkle by text or voicemail at 928-460-3619. Jamie will prepare scorecards for Net Division matches, as handicaps will be updated for each round, while Gross Division matches will be played at gross score.

It usually can be accessed via the “Pay & Transfer” section on the application. When the application opens tap on Zelle and insert your mobile phone number. Most banks have this in their online applications.
Special Events Payment Refund
In the event a tournament is cancelled due to any reason including adverse weather postponements or the member must withdraw from a tournament the following procedures must be followed depending on the members method of payment. The only acceptable form of payment is check or Zelle for Special Events. No cash payments! If a member paid his entry fee by check, he must notify Bill Huth by email whether to return or
destroy the check submitted in payment. No notification will indicate the member’s desire to have his check destroyed. For members who utilize the Zelle program there are more options available:
- Notify the Zelle Tzar to return the money to the members checking account by Zelle
transfer. - Direct the Zelle Tzar to apply the payment to the next tournament on the schedule.
a. If the entry fee for the next tournament is less than what was initially
submitted request by email a partial refund and apply the balance in full
payment for the next Special Event.
b. Conversely, If the entry fee for the next tournament is greater than the funds
previously submitted, remit the unpaid balance by Zelle payment and notify
the Zelle Tzar by email of your intentions. - All instructions, inquiries regarding Zelle payments must be submitted by email to the

member pays from an account managed by their spouse it is imperative that the Zelle
Tzar is made aware of the legal name and phone number associated with the
account so that direct refund payments may be initiated. - All requests for redirection of payments should be completed within a few days. The
members will be notified by email in accordance with the club’s current policy. Your
bank should also notify you of a pending deposit. - The phone number to direct Zelle payments remains the same.
